Recently, the Whiter Paper of Industrial Internet of things (2017 edition) (hereinafter referred to as the White Paper) was officially issued, which was commonly formulated by Chinese Standard Institute of Electronic Technology and other related units. The White Paper reported that, at present, IoT has entered a new stage of deep integration with traditional industries. The transformation and upgrading of industrial manufacturing field have become an important driving force for the development of industrial IoT, which is its key development period.

The White Paper believed that although there is no “authoritative definition” of industrial IoT, it is different from a simple combination of “industry+ IoT”, whose significance is to contribute to intelligent manufacturing. The transformation of traditional industries by industrial IoT will enhance the economic added value of them and promote the development of Chinese economy to transform from production-driven mode to innovation-driven mode and the adjustment of industrial structure.
